Generation of ideas - poster

I am going to think of some initial ideas for the poster and then choose my favourite to go ahead with.

I like four of these idea so I will now do some more in-depth thoughts about each of the designs.

1) The two faces -

I though of using two photos; one is of Jonny smiling and standing tall the other is Jonny slouching looking sad this will help show of the idea of his life and memories and the emotions that accompany them. I thought that this would be a good idea as it would explain the storyline and would also create a weird looking image which would attract the audience.

I have found an existing poster which incorporates this idea,

This poster has the 'two faced' feel which is exactly what I was trying to create. I will create more of a darker and psychological feel but this has given me a better idea of how to create it. 

2) The paper

I though of having an image of a notepad, on this notepad there would be the name (in a handwritten font) some images (Polaroids) that would be attached with paperclips and doodles and little messages from the character. This would give away small clues about the storyline and would express the feelings of the character.

I established this ideas after conducted some research into 'Momento' I really like the effect that this creates and it could work well for our storyline.

3) Mid shot of actor -

I would take a mid shot of the main actor and blackout the image in either black or white colour this would contrast with the background and would create a sense of mystery and curiosity for the user. I like the idea for this poster as it would create the sense of mystery that is so prominent in the trailer.

I have recently seen a poster for 'Gran Torino' and I was really impressed with the poster. it gave off a sense of mystery and a sense of darkness. I would like to create this experience for my audience.

4) The blurry figure

I would take a photo of Jonny sat in the scene surrounded by the essential objects. I would then use 'Photoshop' to blur the image and make him seem mysterious and as if he was no longer there. This is the rhetorical question that we were trying to create in the trailer 'has he killed himself of not?' and this poster could be a good way to get this idea across.

After thinking through these ideas I think that they could all be successful; This is why I am going to create all of these designs and I will then choose my favourite image to carry on with.
